Clarify a wrong idea
It is not uncommon to find people traveling to European Union countries who do not feel they need coverage. Their logic is that they are entitled to free medical treatment if there is a problem at the destination anyway. Why would a travel cover be required?
The answer is very simple and is divided into two categories:
• First, a typical typeface involves more than just getting sick. Examples include theft of your baggage or significant delays on the way back or when you return from a vacation or business trip.
• Secondly, EU health reciprocity agreements do not mean you get the same free medical care as in the UK. They only mean that you receive equivalent treatment, just like the citizens of the country you visit. For example, medical repatriation in the UK would not be covered.
Do not make the mistake of assuming that the annual travel or individual travel insurance is a luxury that you can ignore.
Single or annual coverage
In general, most travelers fall into the category of tourists who travel once a year or regularly. There are many reasons why you would travel several times each year, perhaps you own a property abroad or divide your lifetime into two different countries. You can travel on a regular business trip or take several days off each year.
If you only travel once a year during your annual leave, a unique travel insurance can usually be the most economical solution to protect your financial interests. Coverage is only available for a few days and for most destinations, but not necessarily for everyone.
On the contrary, if you travel more than twice a year, it may be advisable to check for annual coverage. This type of insurance policy usually covers an unlimited number of trips abroad during that year. However, there may be restrictions on the maximum duration of each trip or re-approved destinations. Even if your planned destination is not covered by a standard policy, it is possible to pay an additional premium and thus cover it.
Whether you choose an annual trip or a unique travel insurance, it is important to think carefully before traveling without protection.
