Before the claim read back the agreed agreement |
The travel insurance is a legally binding guarantee for the financial compensation for damages incurred during the journey, provided that the losses result from one or more of the risks mentioned in the travel insurance policy. Group Travel Insurance (GTI) is travel insurance for a group of people traveling together.
WHO MAY CLAIM: GTI applications can only be submitted by members of the group for whom the specified risks occurred during the journey, not by all members. Of course, if the risks have materialized for all members, the claim can be invoked by all.
IF YOU CAN CLAIM: Under GTI, you can only claim if one or more risks actually materialize. It is important to know that the applications must be formally asserted within one month of the completion of the trip covered by the GTI.
HOW TO APPLY: Although different insurers use different application procedures, there are some general steps that you need to take to submit your application, regardless of your insurer. The general steps are as follows:
STEP 1: Write immediately on paper or enter details of events on your laptop, such as: The date and time of the event, the details of the complaint submitted by the local police, if any, etc. Describe the event as well. This is helpful when writing your official complaint.
STEP 2: Send an e-mail or call your insurer to inform him about the event and follow their advice. However, the e-mail or telephone call must normally be accompanied by a formal request for paper and a complete application form provided by the insurer. You can do this, as already mentioned, within one month of the end of the trip.
STEP 3: Answer all insurer inquiries by phone, email, application form, or otherwise. Provide accurate and consistent answers.
STEP 4: The insurer or insurer is likely to conduct an audit / investigation to ensure the legality of your claim. This exercise can take between one and four weeks. You can also ask you to submit certain documents, such as: For example, a police report or a medical report of the city / country visited where the adverse event occurred.
STEP 5: Once the insurer / insurer is satisfied with the legality of your claim, you will receive a check or other payment recommendation from you.
